Engaged! - August 1, 2009 - The King of Surprises does it again! Erik popped the question on a beautiful Saturday morning and Sky could not have been more surprised. We were blueberry picking and were in separate
rows of the blueberry farm when Erik yells, "Hey Sky come over here and look at this!" So Sky comes around the corner completely oblivious to what is happening, as he's all crouched down by one of the blueberry bushes (on one knee - which didn't even register in Sky's brain). Erik says "look at this one!" (He had hung the ring on the branch of the blueberry bush), and Sky said "What IS that?" then looked closer and realized that Erik was on one knee... the rest is history. Lindsey and Jeff graciously prepared a celebratory dinner at their house that night... where, in Jeff's words, they "passed the torch" of wedding planning to us.
Payton and Putter - What's an update without new pics of the pups... here they are enjoying our new home.
Scotty Cameron International Collectors Convention - August 2009 - An annual tradition, we travel to Ohio to meet up with friends and fellow Scotty Cameron Putter enthusiasts for a golf tournament. This year Dan and Ben came with us, a great time was had by all!
US Open and Random Golf Shots - June 2009 - We went to the US Open at Bethpage in NY... cameras weren't allowed, but we got our freebie fake photo from the photo booth while we were there... and this seemed like a good album to add in some random summer golf photos too. Why not?
Dad's Birthday - June 11, 2009 - Dad turns 50 and we celebrate with family! Happy Birthday Dad (and Happy Birthday to Anna too! Who has the same birthday but lives too far away to join in the celebration - we missed you!)
Art Show Prep - Spring 2009 - Sky preps some of her creations for display at a local art show.
Easter 2009 - As tradition holds, Lindsey & Jeff host Easter at their house. Sky made bunny gift boxes for the table, Lindsey showed Martha who's boss with her egg deocrating magic... Big kids baskets, a great meal and good company make for another great Easter Sunday.
Some After Photos - Here are a few photos from right after we moved in this March... we have a way to go with decorating and landscaping and all that good stuff, but hey! look! maybe the website is getting updated again!
New Diggs - We put the townhouse up for rent and took advantage of a great deal on a new place not too far from home. 4 bedrooms. 3 bathrooms, living room, family room, dining room... Yes, we have been craving space lately. Looks like we sure found it! Consider these the "Before" photos. There is a lot of painting to be done. Oh, and packing and moving and decorating, and... there is a lot to be done!
Ladies Night 09 - Anna flew up from Kansas City to join the ladies for a night of dancing and fun at Shrine.
Chocolate Banana Bread - January 3, 2009 - Getting used to the new flash on the camera, and because I (Sky) love food blogs, here is the photo version of the Chocolate Banana Bread made today! 3 really ripe bananas (these were frozen when ripe), mashed; 2 large eggs; 1 ¼ cup flour; ¼ cup cocoa powder; 1 cup sugar (mix of white & brown sugars to make about 1 cup); 1 tsp baking soda; ¼ tsp baking powder; ¼ tsp salt; 1 tsp pure vanilla extract; 2 tsp ground cinnamon; 1 cup chocolate chips; 1. Mix bananas with eggs until windexell combined. Add vanilla. Sift flour, sugar, baking soda & powder, cocoa powder, salt, and cinnamon into the bowl and mix well. Briefly stir 3/4 cup of chocolate chips into the batter. Do not over-mix. 2. Pour batter into a non-stick springform pan. Sprinkle brown sugar and the remaining chocolate chips over the top. 3. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean. Place pan on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes to cool before removing the cake from the pan and serving. YUM!
New Year's Eve - December 31 - January 1 - As tradition dictates, the New Years Eve Smashing Bash came together flawlessly. Erik assembled "the Winnebago" (ie: the giant tarped and heated deck enclosure) to accomodate the cigar smokers, it was a cold one this year. Usually this is the big hit of the evening, but THIS year the big hit was PAUL who helped us count down the new year, oh, about seventeen-million times... at 10pm, at 10:16pm, at 10:57pm, at 11:04pm, at 11:36pm... you get the picture... We truly lost count how may times he started yelling "TEN, NINE, EIGHT, SEVEN, SIX, FIVE..." It just MAY have been more times than he spilled his champagne. But probably not. (Technical note: Erik got some new camera equipment this year for Christmas, we're still trying to figure it out... blurrrr, smile!, bluurrrrrrr, smile! Happy New Year!
Christmas 2008 - December 25, 2008 - We forgot the camera for the first two stops on Christmas, but made up for it in spades for the rest of the gatherings. As usual, we tend to go a little bit overboard during the holiday season, and being on vacation the week before the holiday certainly didn't slow us down. We hope everyone had as beautiful a holiday as we did this year!
Kitchen Redo - December 26-30, 2008 - With the success of the "Erik-went-away-for-the-weekend-bathroom-re-d0" far behind us now, it was finally time to update the kitchen. Trying not to over-improve is difficult since this house is destined to become a rental property (anyone looking?). But a little paint, new lighting and hardware, and a new island (Wayne, we can use the KitchenAid now!) can definitely make a world of difference. Stop by anytime to see the re-do, it was a big hit on New Years Eve, sign a lease if you like it enough and we'll start packing :)
Tryall Jamaica - December 8 - 15, 2008 - Yeah Mon. Erik, Sky, Jeff, Lindsey, Mike & Amie travelled together to Tryall Jamaica for an amazing vacation. Lots of golf, relaxing, swimming, golfing, exploring, golfing, and fun was had by all. We had a villa with a cook, housekeeper, laundress and a gardner and didn't life a finger the whole week... well, unless it was wrapped around a rum punch of course. Jeff and Lindsey got ENGAGED before they arrived so we also had lot of celebrating to do too... enjoy the pics, there are LOTS and there are lots more to come. Amie has all the golf photos coming soon, and somewhere there were fireworks, but this should keep all you looky-loos busy until we get 'em... OH and there's a little video footage over here to your right for your enjoyment. > > > So if the Christmas cards are a little late, and if you're wondering why we only have a 2ft tall Christmas tree this year, it's not cause we don't love ya, we've just been out of town... Yeah, Jamaica no problem.
Puppy Time! - November 2008 - How can you go away for a week and not miss these guys? They never make it to the website, so here's some new pics for those of you who are missing them... Putter is getting so big! Payton couldn't be more annoyed. :)
Jody's Birthday - November 2008 - Our friend Jody joins the 30 club, by celebrating at a surprise party thrown by her best friends. We join in on the fun, which involved lots of goofy wigs (for the Glamour Shot photo station, of course), and wine served in... keg cups! If that doesn't make a good birthday party, we don't know what does! When it comes to crazy wigs, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em - you can always count on us to get in on the fun. One of the best parts for us was having people yell "NSOT!" everytime we took a new photo - I guess we're making our mark! Happy Brithday Jody! Get ready, these are some of the silliest photos yet.
Hoover Dam - November 2008 - After the SEMA Show (work!) we celebrated our anniversary with an awesome dinner at Koi, and took a morning trip to the Hoover Dam (play!) before we caught the plane home from Vegas. if you like cars, some pics from the show are at the end.
Amie's 30th Birthday SURPRISE Party! - October 31, 2008 - The Party Planning Committee pulled another one off this weekend. Amie turned 30 and we surprised her with a Vegas Themed Casino Party. The PPC spent weeks planning and scheming, creating decorations, and preparing for the night. Amie had no idea that her friends and family awaited her at Cobblestones when she arrived... and boy was she shocked! Waiting for her were tons of friends and her very own birthday casino (we all know how much she loves to gamble!) Bonus: it was Halloween! Which meant we all got to dress the part. We had prizes for best costumes (awesome gift baskets!), biggest payout prizes for the gamblers (a free ski weekend compliments of Bridgette WOW), poker tables, dealers, a photo booth, custom cakes, and most importantly a "remember forever" night for Amie. We love you Amie! Happy Birthday!
Mark & Shannon's Wedding - October 25, 2oo8 - Our friends Mark & Shannon tied the knot this weekend! It was a great time and a beautiful ceremony - Congratualtions to the new Mr. and Mrs. Guay!
Info Expo 2008 - September 19-24, 2008 - ahhhhhhh, the result of all of Sky's stress since, hmmm, March? May? The beginning of time? Who knows. IE08 is over... This year the event brought us to The Ocean Reef Club, an unbelieveably wonderful place! Key Largo took a break from the hurricanes for a week, so that Sky wouldn't have a heart attack, and everything went very smoothly. If we look exhausted, we ARE. You try 4 hours of sleep a night for 6 nights and see how camera ready you are LOL... To avoid having to ask 150 people if we can post their pics on the innanet, we are only posting the photos we are in... well, us and Wayne, and our honored guests, Kenny and Linda, and a couple of other choice funnies. This means you miss a LOT of what went on all week - workshops, vendor fair, presentations, classes, people, lots... you didn't want to see all the other stuff, did you? Well you can't. But, you still get a little peek at all the fun. Fun? Yes, work is fun! Sky loves her job (Hi Wayne!) Take a look!
Lindsey's Birthday - Ok we're a little (OOPS) late with these ones.... Jeff planned a super surprise birthday party for Lindsey. Months ago! It was a great day of fun in the sun at Jeff and Marie's lake house, with a totally surprised Lindsey, who had no clue. As Erik said in the evite, "it will be easy, Lindsey always has no clue." LOL! For the record, Megan and Erik ONCE AGAIN beat everyone at bocce ball. They are unbeatable.
Jay Peak - Thanks go to Amie for her mad-contacts with the condo at The Peak... we rent a house for a golf weekend at Jay Peak! Wii, golf, wine, beer, friends... can't wait till next time! Also - AMIE can GOLF! PPC is so proud!
Paul and Jessica Get Married! - September 6, 2008 - The torrential downpours did not damper the wedding bliss tonight that's for sure! We're not sure when this became the really bad dancing, make silly faces at the camera wedding, but we always appreciate the opportunity to let loose for the evening. We are completely thrilled to have been able celebrate Paul and Jess's special day with them. As you can see by the photos, it was a totally fun night for everyone!
Mary's Surprise - August 30, 2008 - Mike and Dan have a grandma! Their Grandma's name is Mary! Mary had a golf cart! She also had a pond! She used the golf cart to get to her pond! Many many parties have been held at the pond... many many people have had much much fun at the pond parties at Mary's house! Something terrible happened. Her golf cart BROKE and she couldn't get down to the pond anymore! This was very very sad. And so, a secret plan was hatched... an evite was sent... a fundraiser was started... a golf cart was purchased... a painting party was planned... a pond party was planned... and... Viola! Mary has a new golf cart! Compliments of the friends and family who love her. She was incredibly surprised, and we all found a way to thank her for the fun at the pond!
From 1980 to 2008 - August 22-24, 2008 - Well, Erik went away for the weekend... up north for Paul's bachelor party. This left Sky all by her lonesome, ok it left her home with the dogs, and in dire need of a project. A quick look at the downstairs "powder room" was all she needed to know how to keep busy for the weekend. 2 trips to Loews, 2 trips to Home Depot, $500, 2 days, a little creativity, a lot of swearing, and a little wine... and a new bathroom it is. Erik partied it up while Sky learned plumbing, electrical and home decor all in one weekend. Thank you GOOGLE, couldn't have done it without you... Google "replace facuet." Oh! So easy! who knew? Add in a much needed visit from Lindsey who gladly whipped up some curtains and wall art and the Big Surprise for Erik was complete in record time. What a difference a few days makes! I think the kitchen is next!
Jaffrey Fireworks Festival - August 16, 2008 - The 3rd weekend of August each year brings us to the Fireworks Festival. Don't think "eh, fireworks? But we just had them last month..." This is a show that you cannot compare. Over an hour, syncronized to music, thousands of people, good friends and good times. Yep, we'll be back next year, if only for the cotton candy!
Scotty Cameron Collectors Convention - August 5 - 8, 2008 - Last stop on the trip, Table Rock Golf Club for the Scotty Cameron ICC (International Collectors Convention). Erik worked some magic and surprised Sky with a CT Putter (Cricle T! Tour! My Girl! for those in the know), hand delivered to Sky by Scotty Cameron himself. Here's a little re-cap of how it all went down:
Scotty Cameron: Hi Sky!
Sky: Uhhh, Hi! How did you know my name?
Scotty Cameron: Well there are very few woman here so it's pretty easy to know who's who....
(insert pause where Scotty went silent and Sky obviously didn't know what to say... akward eye contact , shuffle feet...)
Scotty Cameron: Happy Birthday!
Sky: Uhhhhh.... How did you know its my birthday??? (as she looks back at Erik in line with an awkward smile)
Then Scotty proceeds to hand her a CT MyGirl from under the table. It had been stored there all day... the place errupted with clapping. It seems that everyone attending knew about the birthday gift besides Sky. It was so cool and a once in a lifetime experience. The Butlers and Scotty made this day very special...
More of the story is here. And the details on that new putter that Sky sunk a 25' birdie with during the tournament are here. What a fun day, and a great surprise... the rest of the weekend was spent mixing and mingling with other Scotty fanatics, (Erik found "his people") and with the man himself... A great trip for both of us... and Dan was there too! Good times, good friends, GREAT memories! Pass the wine :)
Football Hall of Fame - August 3, 2008 - After the Sales Meeting, we head to Ohio for work and make a pit stop at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Lucky for us, we end up there on induction day! Erik gets us past security by flashing our AVIS roadmap (pretending it was a parking pass), and we spend the day looking at the past, present and future of pro football.
Naples, FL - July 26 - August 1, 2008 - This week starts our two week road trip. We start in Naples, FL for a week-long Sales Meeting...and a little golf just for fun.
2008 Lobster Open - July 12, 2008 - We participated in our first Lobster Open this weekend and had a blast. We will definitely be back next year for the annual event with a golf tournament in the morning, and an all-you-can-eat lobster fest in the afternoon. 60 people, 160 lobsters, you do the math. YUM! We had a great time playing with Dawn & Bob, were joined by Jay and Jodi (almost ready to deliver baby Miles!), Neil (who won lots of prizes as usual), Casey, Sam and Ann. Sky gave a "lobster 101" class for Casey and Derick (aren't they from New England?), Chris put on a great fireworks show for the lobster cookout and everyone went home happy and full. Sounds like a perfect Saturday to us!
4th of July - July 4, 2008 - We wentto Jeff and Marie's lake house "up nawth" in NH for the 4th of July. A little wiffle ball, boat rides, 3 ft sish-kebabs and fireworks made for a great day. We learned that Amie is really good at wiffle ball and Rockband and that Adam is even better at shooting off well timed fireworks! Baby Grace was as sweet as ever, and Sky taught Marie a little evening camera trick. Can't wait to do it again next year! The rest of the weekend was filled with, oh, 5 rounds of golf... we left the camera at home for that. But...Sky broke 100 again! Let's hope the trend can continue.
Bank of America Championship 2008 - June 20-22, 2008 - What a weekend! We volunteered with Wayne again for the tournament, working the 18th hole scoreboard. Up and down ladders all day long can get tiring, but we made sure to have TONS of fun! Erik and Sky befriended another tour player this year. Last year, Tom Purtzer. This year, Jeff Sluman. We sure make friends fast! Not only that, on day two Erik brought him a gift, a Scotty Cameron Headcover of course, and really sealed the BFF deal. We know for sure we made an impact, when Mr. Sluman hit a 20ft birdie putt to WIN THE TOURNAMENT and gave us a big wave over at the monster board. "Jeff" has promised to "send Erik a little something in the next week or so..." Can't wait to see what it is! Other than that, Sky ended up in the emergency room, getting stitches for a cut hand, compliments of the scoreboard, ouch... which worked out OK, since a bunch of the players asked her what happened as they passed by our board, a few of them checked in on her each day, awe, old men are so nice. THEN we got brought into the locker room to have some one-on-one time with the Celtics NBA Championship TROPHY! We attended the ending toast celebration to the Champion, Jeff Sluman, and had a little fun with his winnings... all in all, it's the BEST volunteer job you can ever have. Can't wait till next year!
Golfing at Townsend Ridge - June 17, 2008 - We golfed at T-Ridge this afternoon, is anyone surprised? Did we tell you we have a spreadsheet? A spreadsheet to calculate the amount of money we save by joining somewhere this year? Yes, it's that important. Yes, we basically live there now. We had a great time as usual. Chris, the assistant pro, and our new friend, got off the phone long enough to come out and play with us and to make his debut on ErikandSky.com. (Attention ladies, Chris is single... email us and we'll set you up!) Erik got to show off some new additions to his Scotty Cameron collection too. On the socrecard today: Sky 104, Erik 75. Everyone goes home happy!
Father's Day 2008 - June 15, 2008 - Kenny and Linda are visiting from Georgia this week, so we invited everyone to our place for a little father's day cookout. There were father's, it was a day, we had a cookout... sounds like a father's day cookout to us! (Nikki will be submitting more photos soon, so look for an update later in the week, she took some great ones!)
Grace Dow's Christening - June 8, 2008 - Erik became a Godfather this weekend! Baby Grace's Christening was a wonderful day! Grace made herself known in church by "singing" (read: crying) the whole time... she wanted to be sure we all knew it was HER day! Congrats Jeff, Marie and Grace!... Please make a special note, Erik prefers answer to "The Godfather" from now on.
Kyle & Crystal's Wedding - June 7, 2008 - Sky's cousin Kyle and the love of his life, Crystal, tie the knot! The thunderstorms held out long enough for a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Hollis, NH, with a totally fun-filled reception to follow. Congratulations go out to a beautiful couple! We love you! xoxoxo *****UPDATE - Thanks to Leo's mad camera-skills, new great pics have been added to the album. Take another look if you want to see more of Kyle & Crystal's big day. Thanks Leo! *****
Sky Breaks 100 - June 7, 2008 - Sky breaks 100 for the first time in her short golfing history... not much else to say, but YAY! Hopefully she can do it again, and again, and again... watch out Erik, you'll have some competition soon... ha!
Senior Prom 2008 May 29, 2008 - We volunteered (hmmmm.... Nancy volunteered us?) once again to help with the Wilmington "Senior" Prom ... and by "Senior," yes, we mean senior citizens! WOW who knew the elderly liked line dance so much? Lindsey taught them the cha-cha slide, and they danced to the electric slide, the macarana...it made US tired. Erik was the DJ, Sky handled prom photos, complete with a fabulous baloon arch, Nancy coordinated the evening, Lindsey led the line dances, and all of the Kiwanas Seniors had a wonderful time. Can't wait to do it again next year - great job Nancy!
Rosalie's Graduation! May 24-27, 2008 - The littlest of all of Sky's sisters graduates High School, it's official, we're all grown up - or are we? Sky, Donna & Teri flew down to itty bitty Walnut, IL for the graduation ceremony, her neice Flora's 4th birthday and a Memorial day celebration. 9 girls, 4 days, one house... with only one bathroom? What could have been a disaster (that's the one bathroon speaking) was a great time for all. MISS you girls! We'll be adding Teri's photos too once she uploads them sooooon :) She had to take over once the camera card filled up; accidentally brought the small one :( packing light has it's disadvantages...
Crystal's Bridal Shower - May 2008 - Thank goodness Teri brought her camera, because Sky forgot! Here are some quick snaps from Crystal's Bridal Shower. Can't wait till the big day!
Watch our new video! We are taking ballet lessons! AHAHAHAHA
We're Members! May 2008 - To feed the habit and keep our bank accounts alive and well, we broke down and joined a country club. As certifiable golf addicts something had to be done to stop the bleeding when it came to the price we pay to play. Sure the golf course thinks THEY are winning by locking in our money for an entire season - truth is, when they see how much time we spend there, they may re-think that whole "pre-paid" idea... Bwahahahaha... we'll get our money's worth alright.
Mom's Day 2008 - We traveled to Wells, Maine to visit Erik's Grandparents (Dick and Jane! Truly a match made in heaven!) and Family for Mother's Day. A completely fun game of Jokers and Pegs (FINALLY we know how to play that game!) ensued with the help of some good luck charms. We had so much fun visiting we didn't get photos of everyone there even... we really need to be more conscientious about that, we are definitely slipping. Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms!
Cell Phone Randomness - May 2008 - Sky got a new cell phone and had to clean out all the random photos that have been gathered there for the past year. This seemed like a great place to store them. Enjoy the sneak peek into Sky's phone over the past year - we've had a lot of fun! Also, Sky sure likes to change her hairsytle huh?
Red Sox Game - May 1, 2008 - We're off to "Friendly Fenway" to watch "Jammie Ramirez" (c'mon, he looks like he's wearing pajamas doesn't he?) and the rest of the Sox! We've been super busy and not toting the camrea lately - booooooooooo. But, have no fear, we're still here!
Golf in NH - April 5, 2008 - We've been hitting in a dome this winter, and we got tired of waiting for the snow to melt. It seems we weren't the only ones. At the first word of "there's 6 holes open at the course up the street," we donned our hats and coats and headed out. It was coooold, but worth it. It is so fun to get out there - AND we saw a MOOSE! See if you can spot him in the pics. See? It pays to get out when no one else is around.
Celtics vs Sixers - March 24, 2008 - 2:45pm Nancy: "Do you and Erik want Celtics tix?"... 2:46pm Sky & Erik: "Yes! Yes! Yes Please!"... 2:47pm Sky & Erik: "Hi Wayne, can we leave work early today? Puh- Leeeaaase?"... Wayne: "You know the rules, you better stay late this week if you go..." Aaaand, the rest is history. THANK YOU NANCY for the great free tickets! We're up for basketball ANYtime! The C's lost, but we had a blast anyway. Go Big Green!
David and Gregoria - March 15, 2008 - Shhhhhh... want to know a secret? Ask us where we were last Saturday... Were we with friends? Yes! Was there dining and dancing and celebrating? Yes! But, what was the occasion? What's the big secret? Welllllllll, it's not a secret anymore! Our friends David and Gregoria got MARRIED! YES, MARRIED! On the SLY! Without letting people know! Until last week, when we were invited to "dinner" with some "friends." Which turned out to be a Bolivian wedding celebration! And, let us tell you, if Vanhoogan (that would be David) and Gregoria ever EVER invite you to what they call a "spanish party" GO! You will have a blast! Congrats go to the lovebirds, the intimate gathering was so much fun, and the couple couldn't be more perfect for each other. Now, go call them and say congrats! Go now! (Yes, we know the video is sideways, but, it is priceless and MUST be shared.)
Florida Trip - March 4-7, 2008 - Off to Florida with nothing but a camera phone! Oops! Sky heads to Florida for work... forgets the camera, forgets that you can't pack a million shampoos and toiletries in your CARRY-ON! Oops! Hi Security, yes I'll be glad to sit in the booth! Otherwise, things went well. If you had to pick a place to host a conference for 100+ of your closest customers, which would you choose? The Biltmore in Coral Gables, The Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo or The Naples Grand in Naples? Sky got to try out all three this week in order to make that choice (nice, huh? Life is good.). And, she has a definite favorite... decisions, decisions.
On the Chopping Block! - March 1, 2008 - OPEN HOUSE this weekend! Even with all the snow, people actually came today! Lindsey dropped off some awesome cookies! See the pics! Word on the street is we will have quite a few more visiting tomorrow. Let's hope we get an offer! ... February 24, 2008 - We put an offer on a house yesterday, and whether or not they take it, we're selling the condo. Since this site gets indexed by Google, we're going to take advantage of the power in the Innanet and list the condo here. For you non-geeks that means if someone searches "Amherst NH Real Estate" they might find this page, and our place, and make us an offer.
Grace Dow - Jeff and Marie have the baby!!! - February 17, 2008 - She never wore maternity clothes and stayed skinny and adorable the entire time she was pregnant. He spent months saying things like "when my daughter... my daughter... my daughter..." Well, two days after the due date (no surprise, Marie is late for EVERYthing), they found themselves sitting at a mexican restaurant scarfing down an appetizer and quickly heading home to time contractions... and now Grace is here! We all have been anxiously awaiting her arrival, none more than proud parents Jeff and Marie. Everyone is happy and healthly and headed home soon!
Puppy Time! - February 10, 2008 - Not much going on in Erik and Sky land this week. Except of course the rapid growth of Putter - 27 pounds now! It's becoming increasingly difficult to get good photos of the pups since they are ALWAYS IN MOTION! But there are a few clear ones of the two of them: Payton who we have taken to calling "the Senior Citizen" and always has a look of "someone please save me..." on his face, and Putter who we have been calling "Stilts," and walks around like an akward teenager, slouching because his legs are too long, and feeling embarassed that he is becoming so much taller than his "big" brother so quickly. Payton may be the older brother, but his days of being the big brother are fading fast.
Lindsey's SuperBowl Party 2008 - February 3, 2008 - OK, so the Pats didn't win today. BUT there were lots of other winners! Erik received the fantasy football championship trophy, Wayne and Biffy won big money on the football betting grid, Biffy also had to forethought to bet on the opposing team (courtesy of Wayne's most recent trip to Vegas) and won money even though we lost, someone must have won the Texas Hold'em tournament (who was it?). Most importantly, Sky & Lindsey won simply because we had yet another reason to buy out the party store and decorate our butts off! Enjoy the pics! p.s. - If you're ever hosting a football party, a cheap-o shower curtain makes a GREAT movie screen! Also, a tv in the bathroom is a MUST! Great party, Lindsey - thank you for opening your house to everyone!
Bretton Woods - January 27-29, 2008 - We don't ski. We don't snowboard. We don't hike, or skate, or make snowmen (maybe we could
do that... can we do that indoors?) So, it makes perfect sense that we head to a mountain "up nawth" for 3 days, right? Well, we did. There were so many reasons! How could we resist 1 beautiful house (slope-side), 5 bedrooms, 20+ friends - including 3 pregnant ladies (noooo, not Sky!), 2 non-skiers (us!), a giant stuffed bear (great cure for cabin-fever), 3 stuffed deer heads (creepy), 100's of video game wins (for Erik, not Sky), board games, a pool table, giant tv's, fried pickles, a million laughs... ummm... has anyone else lost count of reasons why we went?... We had a great time, never had to go outside (much), cooked breakfast for the skiiers, played games, relaxed... maybe we DO love skiing!
>>>UPDATE: Watch Wes Snowboarding from our trip! (Click video on the right.)
Jimmy Lang Fundraiser - January 18, 2008 - If you haven't spent an evening in Dorchester, MA, you haven't met Boston! Sky's cousin (well, Sky's Dad's cousin) Jimmy recently underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor and was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) or Astrocytoma. He's been battling intense radiation and chemo, and tonight his friends and family hosted a fundraiser to help with the rising medical bills; nearly 500 friends and family that is! We've never experienced such an outpouring of support for one person before, it was a great night! A silent auction with more New England sports tickets and gear than you could count, a live auction, tons of raffles, dancing and some of the most supportive and loving people you will ever meet, made an amazing night to help Jimmy and his family. In the auction, we won Donnie Wahlberg's courtside seats to a Celtics game! We learned that Donnie's brother Bob is a friend of the family, who knew? Ever since "New Kids on the Block", Sky has had a crush on one Walhberg or another and never even knew how close she was -- gotta love that "six degrees of separation"! We of course, jumped all over it and bought the tickets - couldn't have been for a better cause! Click here for more information about Jimmy and his battle.
Karen's Birthday - January 12, 2008 - We celebrate Karen's (Erik's Mom) birthday at The Melting Pot. Fondue, Wine, Presents and family make for a great night! Happpy Birthday Karen!!!
Tale of Two Pups - January 12, 2008 - There once was a dog named Payton,
Sometimes referred to as Satan,
He slept all day, And never played, And dreamed of a world of free bacon! - - - - Along came his new brother, Putter,
Whom Payton met with a shudder,
This pup loves to play,
And he’s here to stay, But Payton just saw him as clutter. - - - - Now three weeks have passed,
And often we’re asked,
"How is life with two pups?" - - - - They share every toy; Payton loves this new boy,
And they play and nap together.
We’re happy to say,
At the end of the day, The pups have become friends forever!
Celtics vs Rockets - January 2, 2008 - Caitlin and Mike invited us to join them for a Celtics game... on two conditions. 1 - We drive and 2 - We take them out to dinner. Done! Erik said we'll go, on one condition...1- Show some spirit! Sky get's all dressed up, you know... team hat, team shirt, team color bows in her hair... Erik comes out of the bathroom dressed and ready to go... as "The Big Green." We got on the jumbotron more than once, and rumor has it we made it on TV - Thanks for a great night Caitlin and Mike - as you can see by the photos, the seats? Were Amazing!
New Years Eve 2008 - December 31, 2007 - January 1, - Sky spent 2 days decorating, Erik cooked 7 pizzas and created shot glasses out of ice, and the new year begins in style! Tradition holds true as we host the Annual New Year's Eve Smashing Bash... most notably, Marie was a trooper and stayed past the ball drop at nearly 7.5 months pregnant! Everyone had a blast - This time of year, and all times of year, Sky wishes her far-away family was much closer to share in all the fun - miss you and hope to see you more in Great 2008! Oh, and...you will all have to be the judge... Mike's resolution this year is to be in the most pictures on this website... keep your eyes open for more Mike in 08!
Lindsey's Yankee Swap - December 29, 2007 - Linds hosts a Yankee Swap at her house, complete with an "Ugliest Christmas Sweater" contest. Hands down, Chris actually wore the ugliest sweater, but Erik won the prize because Chris's sweater wasn't technically "Christmas," it was just "Ugly." Sky and Lindsey donned matching pink Tom Brady jerseys for the Pats game, and were forced to change into more traditional game gear when our team started to go down. Thanks to US and our willingness to change superman-style in the bathroom, they won the game and broke 4 records! Go Pats! And, perfect timing, it was Nancy's birthday too! Happy Birthday!
Boston Girls Night Out - December 2007 - What to you do when it's 25 degrees out, snow covered, and windy in New England? Get a new outfit, grab some lipstick, your cutest high heel sandals, forget the hat and gloves, and head to Boston with the girls of course! We had an amazing dinner at Umbria and danced the night away at The Sanctuary. Amie got us an unheard of deal at the Long Warf Hotel - it was basically free! And a great night was had by all. Megan topped it off by racing her way up the wrong side of the escalator when we made it back to the hotel, and the morning found us heading down to breakfast on the same elevator as Jonathan Papelbon!!! We were all way too chicken to ask him for a photo though, but we did follow him around the hotel for awhile, staring from a safe distance of course :) Can't wait to do it again girls!
Christmas 2007 - December 25, 2007 - Let's see, what do you get when you add three houses, nine people (7 of which are SHOPAHOLICS), and a holiday made for giving? Total Chaos. We start the extravaganza at Chuck and Karen's house on Christmas Eve, where Lindsey was actually given the contents of her coat pockets from a high school jacket that was donated this year - one of the funniest time capsules ever opened! We wake up at Erik and Sky's house to find a puppy under the Christmas tree and even more gifts to open; yes Scotty Cameron was there... Then we travel to Wayne's house where all h*ll broke loose with the gifts... let's just say, we are all joining shopaholics-anonymus in 2008. Between 2 days of celebrating, presents sent with love from family far away, goofy gifts like toothpaste, chapstick and tissues (indivudually wrapped of course), we're not sure there's any tape or ribbons left this side of the Mississippi. Thank you everyone for making this a super fun Christmas!
Payton's New Brother! Welcome "Putter"! - December 23, 2007 - Well, Erik finally caved in and Sky got a new puppy for Christmas! Little did she know he had been working on this for weeks. We met the "Pet Bus" at a park and ride off the highway on Saturday afternoon and picked up the newest addition to our family, Putter. He is a Labrador / Golden mix puppy, just 16 weeks old, rescued from a shelter in Tennessee. At only 4 months old he's almost as tall as Payton already. The new brothers are having normal growing pains, but things are going very smoothly... so far. Let the fun begin! (thanks Santa-Erik!)
Gingerbread Weekend - December 15-17, 2007 - What a weekend! Friday night, Lindsey hosted "Gingerbread House Smackdown '08" She and Jeff challenged us as well as her roommate Dan, and his girlfriend Carolyn to a serious gingerbread house building contest. We went a little overboard with the candy you will see. And Erik came out the big winner in originality - he built Gillette Stadium! Everyone else stayed true to character with Lindsey building a pink and green house, Jeff a pretzel log cabin, Sky a house with real lights from the inside (her secret weapon smuggled in at the last minute), and Dan and Carolyn teaming up to build a Red Sox cabin! We all needed to see the dentist after that night. Saturday brought us to Chuck and Karen's house for dinner (without the camera - blame it on the candy coma). We did manage a shot of the appetizers Sky made though (penguins!) And Sunday we went to Jay and Joan's where Erik got to meet Aunts, Uncles and Cousins for the first time, and we all donned santa hats for the obligatory self-timer holiday photo... The holiday gatherings have offically begun!
Baby Dow is Coming! - December 9, 2007 - Jeff and Marie are having a BABY! There will be a new "Dow" in the world soon and we couldn't be happier for our friends!!!! Her surprise baby shower was organized by her sister and was a smashing success. The parents-to-be couldn't be more prepared now. Check out the photo of Marie and her breakfast... Chocolate cake, bacon, sausage and maple syrup... yep she's pregnant. Baby Girl Dow should be here just in time for Valentine's Day! YAY!
Christmas Party! - December 8, 2007 - Well, this is it... full circle for erikandskydotcom. The first photo we could dig up when we created this site is from last year's Chirstmas Party, where we did not attend even "together." So, it was very cool to go there together this year - awe ain't we cute? But, what's the etiquette? We have lots of pics of lots of people... for now, we're just posting people who know about this site... so if you were there, and would like to see the "other" pics of the other people... let us know and we'll send them separately! Happy holidays everyone!
BC vs. The Losers - December 4, 2007 - "Who is BC playing tonight?" ... "The Losers!" Also known (tonight) as the St. Louis Billikens... we still have no idea what a Billiken is. Believe it or not, this was Nikki's FIRST BC Basketball game! WHAT? Sky's been to like 10 already, and Nikki has never been?!!?!?! We fixed that in style tonight, with an upgrade to courtside seats (Erik always knows who to call) and a big win by BC.
Payton Gets in Trouble - Who's Surprised? - December 1, 2007 - Little Payton had a nice long visit to the spa" this weekend. He had his nails done, got a snazzy new haircut, spent 24 hours hooked up to an EKG machine and was treated to some soothing IV therapy! What a lucky little pup! All he had to do to win this wonderful little vacation was weasel his way into the closet, open up the bags of Christmas gifts, and eat 1 chocolate marshmallow fondue set (tea light included) and 2 boxes of chocolate covered espresso beans!!! He's such a SMART dog *ahem* We're sure you can imagine what a BARGAIN it was too! Thanks Payton :) we love you too - dummy
Christmas House 2007 - December 2007 - With so many friends and family far-far away, we're not able to have everyone over to the house to enjoy our tree and holiday cheer! A little bird asked for a "photo safari" so that we can share our Christmas decorations from afar, and we are happy to oblige. What else are we going to do? It's snowing like crazy outside - enjoy the tour!
Thanksgiving 2007 - November 16-23, 2007 - Our week in the south begins with the BC - Clemson football game, where we learned that "ClemPson" fans (gotta pronounce the "p") are the most welcoming of all college football fans, and 86,000 people cheering for their team is one of the loudest things you will ever hear! We learned that they have us BEAT when it comes to tailgating, but we have them BEAT when it comes to clinching a spot in the ACC Championship game (to be played on Dec. 1. GO EAGLES!) We stayed in Alpraretta, GA with Wayne's brother Kenny, Linda, Dawna, Scott, Amanda and Bryan. We played a revealing board game called Therapy the first night... "Hi, nice to meet you, tell me all your secrets!" We golfed a LOT (SURPRISE! Everyday!), shopped for houses and Burberry wallets (Bad Lindsey!), and completely forgot to take photos on Thanksgiving Day OOPS! I blame that on the yummy turkey our hosts made for us...
Holiday Painting - November 2007 - Christmas is coming, and Sky is getting ready... a little paint + some wooden beads + bells + glue + and... let's see... Erik hogging the TV for three football games = new ornaments for the tree this year!
SEMA Show in Vegas - October 31 - November 2 - We headed out to Vegas for work for the SEMA Show, a Halloween tradition. Erik and Wayne went out a couple of days early for set-up, and Sky joined them (and the rest of our crew) at the start of the show. After the show closed, Sky & Erik stayed behind to tear down the booth, and then for a well deserved night on the town. It can't be all work, can it? Sky left as the big winner from Roulette (and promptly bought jewelry with the winnings). And Erik watched the Patriots beat the Colts in the gate at the airport before we departed - a good trip for everyone!
Football & Birthday Cake - October 21, 2007 - We head to Wayne's to watch football and celebrate the birthday's one more time - October is officially all birthday all the time month!
Karen & Chuck's Party - October 20, 2007 - Karen and Chuck have got their new house ship shape and kick off fall with a great family party!
Erik and Mike Turn 30! - October 13, 2007 - We pulled one over on the boys this weekend! They both turn 30 this month, and little did they know that we had been planning a surprise birthday party for them for most of the summer. Sky and Amie got them believing that we were headed out in Lowell for dinner... first stop, The Old Court, where Lindsey awaited with friends, family, and a picture perfect birthday bash. SURPRISE! After you check out the photos, download the embarassing centerpiece cards.
Sailing on Cashel - October 7, 2007 - 7:30 am, Amherst, NH..."Hi Mom, it's raining up here, are we still sailing today?" "YES! It's sunny and beautiful here, the water is calm and it's GORGEOUS out! Hot, even!" "Ok!, We're on our way..." 10:00 am, Narragansett Bay, Portsmouth, Rhode Island....ummmmm.... we think Karen was looking at a Florida travel guide when she told us that, because... 'the seas were rough that day'... and cold... and windy... and cold... and not hot or sunny! Our maiden voyage on Chuck and Karen's sailboat, Cashel, was a great one regardless! Unless you're Meghan, who was 'just thirsty' (read: sick), or Chris, who somehow ended up wearing no shirt, and fisherman's overalls. Like we said, the seas were rough that day...
BC Kicks Bowling Green's Butt - October 6, 2007 - We only took one photo today. So we don't have much to say. Except that BC beat Bowling Green by a LOT. And... Eat more chicken.
Mark & Dan's Party - September 29, 2007 - Just a couple pics of a fun evening at Mark, Shannon and Dan's house.
Jonathan B Loden Charity Golf Tournament - September 28, 2007 - A cause close to their heart, Erik and Wayne travel to Maryland for an annual event supporting SPOHNC, in memory of their friend Tim's son, Jonathan. Not enough photos to showcase the day here, but nearly 150 golfers turned out for the event to raise money show their support for the Loden family.
InfoExpo 2007 - September 15-19, 2007 - We have the very good fortune of traveling to some pretty cool places for work. One perk - amazing locations... Another perk? We travel together and get to experience it all together. This week took us, and Wayne too!, to Palm Springs for our annual client conference. A lot of people have asked what goes on there and what we do there. So here you go friends and family - enjoy! This year Sky took over the planning and organizing of the week-long event, Erik taught workshops and wheeled and dealed with the clients, Wayne was large and in charge as usual, and we squeezed in a bunch of fun, for us and for the customers. Don't get the wrong idea from the pics, it's a TON of work. We're just sharing the fun ones with you - if you really want to see a week's worth of meeting rooms full of clients to PROVE that we worked hard all week, email us (you freaks!)... we know most of you don't care, and all you want to see is the FUN!
BC vs. Army - September 22, 2007 - Just a few pics to get us by - we forgot the camera (the horror!) and borrowed Lisa's (YAY!) We launched Rick's latest purchase "The ADV" a.k.a. "The Beverage Buggy" and made a few deliveries to unsuspecting tailgaters. We cooked breakfast on the grill, in true tailgate style, BC kicked Army's butt 37 to 17, and everyone went home happy! We're waiting for Lindsey to upload and share the pics she took on her phone and will be adding them soon! (hint hint, nudge nudge, Linds ;))
Erik's Tourney in Sebago - Here are a few pics from the tournament Erik was at while Sky was enjoying Aruba. Erik had a blast with quite a few nine hole tournaments, one where you could only use one club the whole time (!), chipping under the stars, lots of golf, good friends and great food, a good time was had by all. Yes, he was missed in Aruba, but it looks like he had fun despite it all!
The Ladies (and Mike) in Aruba - September 6 - 9, 2007 - So, Mike and Amie planned a trip to Aruba and invited a bunch of friends... Erik and Sky couldn't make it because we JUST went on vacation... THEN Erik joins a 3 day, men only, weekend golf tournament in Maine during the same weekend we would have gone to Aruba... and says to Sky "think you can find something fun to do while I'm away?" Answer - "Um, yes, I think I can!" Erik promises to post golf tourney photos next - So, stay tuned!
BC Football Opening Day - September 1, 2007 - This is the beginning of a recurring theme here (Besides golf. And besides US!!!). it's time for BC. Football. BC. Basketball. BC. Tailgate. BC. Go BC. BC Eagles. BC. BC. With tailgating season beginning and season tickets for the foot and the basket of the balls... shennagins are just beginning... also, WOW the camera is dying... hopefully we get a new one soon! (GO BC!)
Lindsey's Birthday - August 31, 2007 - The ROCKSTAR has a birthday dinner... This gives her SPECIAL privileges of being the FIRST non-erikandsky to hold the feature photo position on the website... she's special alright....
Limo Night - August 2007 - We WON (won, the opportunity to purchase...) a night in a limo at a silent auction (to benefit Boston's food bank) not too long ago. As a thank you gift to our friends for helping us move furniture to and from many places (THANK YOU!), we took them out for a free night on the town (except, you know, for the balance of what a limo really costs - hey everybody, we want to take you out, got $25? hee hee). Regardless, a great time was had by all... and even though we didn't NEED a designated driver, with Marie being all pregnant and all, we had one, and had a blast! The camera, on the other hand, may be on it's last legs, photos aren't too great, and let's just say it's being held together with a rubber band right now - Napa really took a lot out of it.
Pond Party - August 19, 2007 - It's pond party time with Mike and Amie, where the dogs almost outnumbered the people and a mean game of volleyball proved that even the trees can play!
Jaffrey Fireworks Festival - August 18, 2007 - Today we joined 30,000+ Jafricans for the annual fireworks festival.
Walnut, IL - Last stop on the trip- August 8 - 11, 2007 - This is our last stop in the trip, and we couldn't upload photos live, beacuse it's pretty far out beyond high-speed Internet, cell phone service, maybe even cable! We finish our trip in Walnut, IL to visit Sky's Mom, sisters, neice, aunts, uncles and cousins - we only missed the grandparents an aunt and uncle and a bunch of cousins. But it was great to see everyone that we were able to. In Napa, all we saw were grapes, and in Walnut, all we saw was CORN! A great, too-short visit, with a little golf and a stop at the greasiest local chicken place - RIPS. You can feel the grease on the floor, on the tables, in your arteries, and on your skin when you leave... but it's sooooo goooood, it's a must see. Even though the trip is over, check back often for updates from all of our adventures!
Our last day in Napa Valley, CA- August 7, 2007 - It's our last day here and not only did we have our best tour of the trip at Duckhorn Vineyard, we are also both getting "better and better" with the camera! The photos are getting more artistic and are coming out really pretty. Sky's birthday dinner was at the Culinary Institute of America, and we finally tracked down a bottle of Screaming Eagle wine for Wayne... a mere $20,000 each. (Sorry Wayne, you'll have to settle for the photo - they won't let us bring bottles on the plane, otherwise we would have picked up a couple for you!) We're sad to leave, but excited to get to Illinois tomorrow for Rose's birthday and to see everyone. Walnut here we come!
Day 3 in Napa Valley, CA- August 6, 2007 - "Re-u-ni-ted and it feeells to goooood..." Our golf clubs have been returned to us! Thank goodness! So... we golfed! After an awesome tour and tasting at Coppola, which offered the VIP treatment, valet parking included; we had lunch, and headed out to golf! That was a lot of exclaimation points! ! !
2nd Day in Napa Valley, CA- August 5, 2007 - We started the morning at the mud baths, with a soak in HUGE tubs of mud, jaccuzzi, blanket wrap treatments, and then massages...zzzzzzzzzz. We corrected our rookie convertible mistake from yesterday and donned the sunblock before heading out... and after all the relaxation, we headed to Napa Valley. We visited the Culinary Institute of America, and vineyard hopped until the last one closed. We found some amazing wines (Paraduxx, Alpha Omega, Grgich) and some so-so's (Miner, blah) had a great dinner, and FINALLY got conifrmation that our golf clubs have been located, and may actually be returned to us soon!
Calistoga, CA- August 4, 2007 - After a delayed flight and terrible traffic, we made it to Silver Oak for the release of the 2003 Alexander Valley Cabernet. We almost missed the party - but finally made it with an hour to spare! We were lucky enough to be there for the opening of a bottle of 1989 Cab - 1 of only 140 bottles made - and Sky got the first pour and first taste from it - YUM! After some relaxing at Silver Oak, we headed to the Pink Mansion in Calistoga, and out to dinner. Our golf clubs are lost, and we may never see them again - US Airways is the worst airline we have ever flown! Maybe someday "corporate security" will find our lost clubs, until then, we've been "kindly" told they have no idea where they are, and maybe... perhaps... we shouldn't have been flying with them if they were so important to us. HA!
Sedona and Jerome, AZ- August 3, 2007 - Between the two of us, we will have hundreds of pics before we get home LOL! Everything here is so pretty we want to remember it all and can't stop snapping cool photos. We took a trip to the top of Oak Creek Canyon and to the Haunted Hotel in Jerome, AZ today. It was a little cloudy, but the views were still uncomparable. Tonight, it's dinner in the Relaxation Room in Cottonwood, then an early 3am wakeup to head to the airport for Napa!
Sedona and Cottonwood, AZ- August 2, 2007 - Today we drove to Cottonwood to visit Wayne's sister Shelia and her husband Ralph. They took us to the bottom of Oak Creek to see Cathedral Rock and to their favorite secret place near Sedona, Boynton Canyon. They lived in the "gatehouse" before the Enchantment Resort was built on the property. What was once their private place, is now a $500 a night resort! This morning we're off to Jerome, AZ and back to Sedona ... more pictures later! Tomorrow we take off for Napa! SEE YOU SOON MOM!
Copperwynd Resort- August 2, 2007 - Time to say goodbye to the Copperwynd and hit the road for Shelia and Ralph's!
Phoenix (Fountain Hills), AZ- July - August 2007 - We're counting ourselves lucky this week - enjoying Arizona, here for work - but have had the opportunity for lots of R&R too! We've seen some amazing lightening storms, had lots of golf - Sky chipped in from the sand for her fist birdie! We're off to Shelia's at the end of the week, then Napa and then Illinois!
Painting Party - Summer 2007 - Lindsey gets a roommate, which means the pink and green has got to go (seeing as the roommate is a guy, and that is SO not a guy color combo - LOL) We had a great time, even though Lindsey had a little problem controlling the roller and keeping the paint off the outlets.
Lowell Spinners Game - July 20, 2007 - Mike and Amie host their annual summer get together at the Lowell Spinners game. Food at the Gator Pit, a free rubber chicken, and a trip to an very upscale restaurant in Lowell (SO upscale it had a mechanical bull!) makes for a great summer fun!
100 Holes of Golf - July 13, 2007 - Erik raises money for charity by... what else?... playing golf! 100 holes in one day!
The New Englanders - July 2007 - We go see the New Englanders perform at Amherst Country Club. Great music, free buffalo wings, how could you not have fun?
Red Tail - July 2007 - After a sleep over at Chuck and Karen's we decide to give Red Tail a try. Bunkers, 33 found golf balls, and a threat of rain = a great day golfing!
Senior Prom! - May 2007 - Erik DJ's the Senior Prom - Seniors meaning Senior CITIZENS! Either way, Sky never went to prom so this was a fun alternative... even though the guests were all in bed by 10pm.
Cinco-de-SKY-O - We had a party for Cinco-de-Mayo; lots of you were there; some of you even took pictures :) Send them to us if you did, because we were too busy with the pinata to remember to take our own! WE GOT SOME!
Karen & Chuck get Married! - April 2007 - Some pics have surfaced of the famous wedding in the kitchen! Congratulations!
Easter 2007 - Easter at Linsdey's with her new TV. Which Wayne did not approve of, but seemed to enjoy watching ;) Nikki - we missed you and Lily!
Wicked - Lindsey's Christmas gift - tickets to see WICKED! A great show with Wayne, Nikki, Lindsey, Karen, Chuck and Andrew.
NYE 2006 - December 2006/January 2007 - Sky meets Eriks friends. Katrina comes for moral support.... and bff entertainment! A fun night was had by all - the decorating committee did an amazing job with the lights too! A great way to ring in the New Year!
ASA Christmas Party - December 2006 - Our first "date"? This could have been our first date, there was food and dancing, and we were both there all dressed up - we're not really sure if it counts though! Alright, fine, it doesn't count, it's a stretch. But cute picture though - defintely a keeper.
